What is “pre-construction”?

Pre-construction is the first phase of the building process, when most of the big-picture planning happens. This is where we turn napkin drawings into schematic drawings. In the pre-construction phase, we determine how the home will be constructed by:

• Defining the project
• Identifying potential concerns
• Conducting feasibility studies (compare architectural and structural plans)
• Securing needed permits, entitlements, and trade contractors
• Developing schematic drawings and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
